Creativity and fun are hallmarks of my drawing style and my approach to your project. Because I grew up an Iowa farm kid, I'm not afraid to roll up my sleeves, break a sweat or get my hands dirty. I work from my home studio at my drawing table and Apple computer. I stick to your budget and deadline. If a project is beyond my abilities or expertise, I have a network of talented professionals and friends from around the country – animators, writers, graphic designers, web developers – whom I will bring on board if requested.

Take a look at my portfolio. I have my own style…no apologies. My art is "blue collar," nuts and bolts with a strange twist here and there. My drawings are done by hand in pencil, pen and ink, then finished in Photoshop and delivered to my clients by email.

When you call my studio, you talk to me. I don't hide behind email or answering machines. I do my best to return EVERY phone message and email (when possible within 24 hours).

After a successful career in education and the corporate world, I began freelancing in 1997. I've been using my art talent and creativity ever since to help clients find solutions to their communication needs. Whether for print or the web, my art has been used by large corporations and small businesses, as well as government and non-profit organizations. My clients range from agriculture to education, technology to marketing, finances to publishing.

In addition to my art, I host a weekly radio show "The Home Show with Dave & Katie," which airs on Leighton Broadcasting stations. In the summer I also teach cartoon camps for kids through the Paramount Arts District in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
